The Super Bowl runner-ups had some work to do in the offseason to get to a point where they can beat the Chiefs. Even their NFL-best defense couldn't stop the Chiefs dynamic offense. Did the team get better in the offseason? I would say they stayed the same. They used both of their first round picks on Javon Kinlaw and Brandon Aiyuk to replace DeForest Buckner and Emmanuel Sanders respectively. Hmmm. I would say trading for Trent Williams is a nice upgrade over a fading, and now retired Joe Staley, at a key offensive position. Still, the 'Niners run game was already pretty good, and until what, like 10-12 minutes left in the Super Bowl, they did have the Chiefs pretty well bottled up. The Chiefs either found some holes, or the 'Niners ran outta gas. Mahomes made some very smart plays as well. It was a fun SB to watch, that's for sure. The NFC is so jammed with teams that can make a few moves and boom, they're right in the mix. It would be fun to watch and I hope we get the chance to. - CyberRat

Not especially. I'm a Vikings fan, but I think more than that, I just am a football fan. I respect greatness, and great organizations in the NFL. For this example, I respect how the 'Niners gutted their team in the early 2010's after that plan came up short, built a foundation with a gifted and deep defensive line, and we all can see that that plan is paying off. The move to trade Buckner was another smart move, as it moves back the inevitable salary cap issues that any good team has to deal with. Lets face it, other than NE, every team has had to build, sign key players and max out the cap, try to win a championship, then lose key players, and start over agian. It's the organization's that do this well that I respect. - CyberRat
